I found that they come with 2 colors, blue and black, are they both work? Do I have to be careful when I buy one that might not be a good version, or they all are fine?

So far there have been no reports of bad xfta dongles.

I believe the demand is higher than the supply at the moment so they could be just mix matching different external components

I found a guide how to setup xfta but it doesn't say how to setup your receiver and what would be the loaded file, would somebody please answer.

would assume the same way as the WF, receiver will need an IP to Communicate with the IKS server

Yes it's similar just a few extra steps

Receiver wise you should follow this guide:

then you have to load this file into the Xfta router
X-fta wireless router latest software

After that is all loaded go into the sat settings to configure
Make sure your
SSSP protocol is set to viewsat (via wfemu)

First, thanks to all trying to help, second, homer, would you please explain what are the files you are referring to use in the receiver, I didn't get my XFTA dongle yet and trying to save time by preparing my receiver first, therefore, please explain more about which files exactly I need to flash my receiver with before setting up my XFTA dongle. I read your post but I am not sure that I understood.

The proper loading procedure sould be:

Load factory file 0302 onto you receiver
Software upgrade to upgrade your WF
Load channel file 0303 onto our receiver
Software upgrade to upgrade your WF

Actually, come to think of it you will only need the 0303 file that goes with what ever model your receiver is, and no s/w upgrade will be required

Homer, before thinking about using the XFTA I was planning to use the Linux method (receiver to computer connection) and following the instruction I had to load the following files PFTAUSW-100318U, PFTAUSW-100322U, and PFTAUSW-100320U_WF, in order (I don't know why 322 then 320), therefore my receive has now the 100320 file, so now do I load 0303? and where to find files 0302 and 0303?

I have one more question, do I have to enter the PS info in the receiver or only in the XFTA rounter?

Yes just into the xfta dongle
be sure to save the all the info after you enter it
into the xfta dongle then click on build config file
then click on start
if all info is correct you should have tv
