    Default HD Receivers on IKS

Currently testing an iLINK 9500HD and a SonicView 8000HD and I'm looking for another FTA HD receiver that will work with IKS on a Private paid service. If we can get testers to help confirm what's available and working, hopefully by creating this list will help out others as well and clear up any confusion. I found the following FTA HD receivers listed on the net and I need to know the following for each one.

    1) Will it work on IKS Private Paid Service.
    2) Is there a 8PSK Module available.
    3) Does it require a computer to function.
    4) Is there currently a working bin file available.

    Receiver List:

    AXBOX BRAVO HD
    CAPTAIN 8000HD
    CAPTIVE WORKS 4000HD
    COOLSAT 8000HD
    DREAM BOX
    iLINK 9500HD
    KBOX K2 HD
    LIMESAT HD Wifi PVR
    LIMESAT HD MAX PVR
    NFUSION HD
    PANSAT 9000HD
    PANSAT 9200HD
    PROBOX 930HD
    SONICVIEW 8000HD
    SATZEN Z500HD
    VIEWSAT 9000HD

Simply put... any box that can run the newcamd protocol can be used for iks.

More are coming out all the time

The problem is most manufactures don't list all of the details of it's capabilities like having the newcamd protocol not to mention some of the older models that have been disconnected. The other problem I'm finding is, the receiver might be capable of running the newcamd protocol but in standard definition and not HD because there is no 8psk module available. I thought by posting this question in a forum full of FTA testers would have helped me and possibly others looking for the same answers but I guess I was wrong.

That's correct, it must be just a typo, SonicView 8000HD is one that I'm currently testing and it does work. Can someone please confirm if the ViewSat 9000HD and Max will work without a PC.

Can you tell me if the Viewsat MAX HD has up scaling on SD channels and does it offer OSD in 1080. Also, I found there are 3-different dongles available for the MAX. Weather Forcaster, Viewsat V-link and the XFTA. Is there one better then the other in terms of reliability. Thanks

You have a pretty good combination going as is really.

The only two that stick out in the list that I see are the CW4000HD which is much much more than just a satilite reciever and the Limesat HD unit.

By the time you get a viewsat and the module and an xfta router your looking at the same thing as these two inboard P$ units.

I will caution you on the limesat option however, because there are two recievers out there, as you know. One version requires a rare module and the other has a standard module and server access.
There may be some out there trying to sell one as the other and ripping people off.

If I were you I would wait a month or two before getting anything else HD

who knows... there may be something else available by then.

Btw I almost forgot the Nfusion HD which does require a computer but it works in the backround and doesn't interfer with regular PC activity, the pc must be on at all times

    homer,

I need another HD receiver for a 3rd room and wanted to try something different as long as it's a decent unit. I just happen to have a spare SK200 module and I believe it should work in the Viewsat MAX but I'm trying to find more info on which dongle to use. Because I want to use it on a Private service, I guess it's down to the XFTA or Viewsat V-Link. I know the XFTA is a wireless solution but which one would be best for reliability. Also, do you know if Viewsat suffers from the channel change error. If I did look at the limsat receivers, is the MAX HD unit the one to look for and is there a way to tell the difference between the two. Thanks
